Thanks to our inventive and influential technology, the awards keep coming in. This is further proof that Donlen is the industry’s most innovative fleet management company. We know how great our technology is, but so do other companies—in the past few months alone, Donlen’s innovation was recognized by InformationWeek and the Stevie Awards.

Our customers benefit with this innovative focus on technology.”

“We are especially proud of this award because it shows our strong collaborative efforts between all of Donlen’s operational groups,” Dennis Straight, senior vice president of IT, said. “This was a win for our IT team, operations and customer service. We are proud of the fact that our FleetWeb platform is flexible enough to handle high levels of customization.”

Donlen Runs for a Great Cause in JP Corporate Challenge

Donlen was proud to continue our participation in the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge this month. To commemorate our 50th Anniversary, over 50 employees participated in the race, one for each year Donlen has been in business (well, more than one per year). Donlen employees had fun at this enjoyable team building event.

“I participated this year in order to spend extra time with my coworkers and to help form better relationships, and we had a blast,” Patrick Mitchell, renewal specialist in the License & Title department, said. “The fact that the race benefits local charities helps me fulfill my philanthropic goals, and I can’t wait to run again next year.”

The 3.5 mile race took place in Grant Park on Thursday, May 21, for the benefit of Get In Chicago. Get In Chicago’s mission is to identify, fund and rigorously evaluate evidence-based programs that lead to a sustainable reduction in violence for individuals and communities most affected by violence and poverty.

Ericsson Sees ROI with Telematics; Widespread Improvements Throughout Fleet

Ericson-Whitepaper-WEB-135pxEricsson, a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment and services to mobile and fixed network operators, initiated a six-month DriverPoint® Telematics trial in 420 F-150s ready for delivery.

Throughout the trial, there were widespread improvements in driver behavior, fuel economy and safe driving patterns.

“One of the more interesting parts of the trial was our analysis of driver oil-change downtime by vendor,” Tom Sloan, manager of telematics products, said. “We presented Ericsson with a cost versus time analysis, and they in turn can direct drivers appropriately. Armed with this type of data, Ericsson can continue to see great results using DriverPoint.”

New Mobile App Functionality

On June 8, Donlen plans to release major updates for the DonlenDriverTM Mobile and FleetWebTM Mobile apps. Updates will include a simplified order-approval interface in FleetWeb Mobile and improved fuel finder and service finder functionalities in DonlenDriver Mobile.

“Our one-step purchase order-approval drastically reduces vehicle downtime,” Jeff Pursell, vice president of FleetWeb products, said. “The Intelligent Fuel Finder utilizes fuel prices, driving distance and driver time to locate the optimal fuel station.” The Service Finder in DonlenDriver Mobile will allow drivers to filter vendors by the types of services offered, making it easier for them to locate appropriate maintenance vendors.

By streamlining the order-approval process and enhancing the information provided by vendor-locating tools, fleet managers and drivers on-the-go will be able to get more done on their mobile devices. These app updates will contribute to reduced costs and increased productivity for our customers’ fleets.
