Transportation Requests Done Right

Recently, we rolled out a new transportation request process in the Vehicle Information Center (VIC) that is unmatched in the industry. “Donlen is the first fleet management company that is implementing this type of online application to move vehicles for their customers,” said Tim Delaney, Vice President of Client Relations for Transport Solutions of America. “Donlen’s new application will make the process of moving vehicles more efficient and accurate, as well as speed up the process of moving a vehicle from pick-up to destination. The real winner of this application is our mutual customers who will see an immediate impact on the level of service that both our organizations provide.”

In addition, the following new enhancements in VIC are designed to help customers enter requests quickly and with less clicks. With this latest VIC release, customers now have the ability to request:

  • Duplicate or corrected registrations
  • Insurance cards
  • Transportation quotes
  • Status of existing requests
  • Assistance from Account Managers without leaving VIC

Donlen’s VIC gives customers a complete online vehicle history. Account Managers can track in real-time the complete status of a vehicle throughout its lifecycle, from order to disposal. VIC contains scanned images of all documents pertaining to a specific vehicle, including purchasing, licensing, registration, billing, fleet management, vehicle remarketing, exceptions, and user-defined information. VIC makes it easy to track driver changes to a vehicle order, audit factory invoices, edit client data fields and update driver information. Customers can also send a message to their Account Managers without leaving VIC, saving administrative steps.

DriverPoint® to the Rescue

DriverPoint has many beneficial features to help your fleets reduce costs and increase driver safety. For example, DriverPoint can let you know when you have been going above the speed limit, when you are letting your car idle, and where your car is at all times of the day, especially when your vehicle is STOLEN. Donlen recently assisted a local police department when a customer’s vehicle was stolen. Thankfully the car was installed with a DriverPoint device, and within an hour of the vehicle being stolen, it was recovered and the thief was arrested. Correct Tire Pressure Increases Vehicle Performance

Tire-Pressure-Brochure-1Maintaining the correct tire pressure benefits you in a number of ways. Vehicles with tires that are under-inflated have higher rolling resistance and therefore require a greater amount of fuel to maintain a given speed. Increased fuel efficiency is not only better for the environment with lower CO2 emissions; it is better for your bottom line with reduced fuel spend.

If your tires are under or over inflated, they are more likely to sustain damage. The result is that you need to replace tires more frequently which can be costly over vehicle’s lifecycle. All tire information can be found on information placards located on the driver side doorjamb or “B-pillar.” The placard also includes OEM tire sizes and inflation pressures as well as the vehicle’s total weight capacity.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reinforces that it is the vehicle, not the tire, determines the correct tire pressure for the tires on your vehicle. Tires are manufactured to fit multiple vehicles, and each vehicle is built differently. If you would like more information on tire safety from NHTSA, click here to download their brochure.
