Driver’s Corner

high winds

As spring starts ramping up, many places across the U.S. have been experiencing high winds, which pose unique driving challenges. Automotive Fleet has provided a comprehensive list of tips to keep in mind should the winds pick up while you are on the road.

Among those tips are reminders to always wear a seatbelt and to slow your speed to a safe driving speed, as well as some tips specific to wind. For example, be aware and maintain safe distance from other vehicles, especially RVs, trucks, or towed trailers, which could swing out and hit your vehicle in a sudden gust of wind. You can read more tips for windy driving here.

And Finally

car tires

With the tire industry growing and supply of carbon black (a common filler component in tires) running low, researchers have found a possible alternative to carbon black: food waste, specifically egg shells and tomato skins. Learn more about their research on this eco-friendly option here.

Have a great weekend and safe travels.
