Donlen Employees Raise $2,534 to Donate to WINGS, Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence

Donlen employees always jump at the chance to lend a hand and help our community. This year during Employee Appreciation Week, appreciation candy bars were for sale for employees to purchase as gifts for their co-workers. Donlen donated all of the proceeds from the sale of those candy bars to WINGS Program, Inc., an organization which provides housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence.

Throughout the week Donlen employees purchased candy bars, each priced at $1, and raised $2,534 to donate to WINGS. Shelly Welch, community resources manager at WINGS, visited Donlen on Sept. 20 to be presented with our donation by Donlen President, Tom Callahan. Driver’s Corner

deer crossing

Fall brings lots of changes to the roads to be on the lookout for, but here’s one you may not have thought of: deer! Fall is mating season for deer, so it is more likely that they will be darting out onto the road during this time of year.

According to Safelite AutoGlass, the best way to keep yourself safe from a collision with a deer (and keep the deer safe, too!), is to slow down and use caution. Be careful particularly in areas with deer-crossing signs and especially during sunrise and sunset. In addition, it’s important to remember that deer travel in small packs, so if you see one deer crossing the road, chances are they will be followed by others. Read more about this and other fall driving tips in Safelite’s article here.
