Modern vehicles are increasingly equipped with safety technology that makes it a little easier to drive in winter conditions. Features such as all-wheel drive (AWD), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and lane assist technology can help drivers as they navigate snowy and icy roads. In this Forbes article, Rebecca Lindland explains that regardless of two-wheel or all-wheel drive, it takes 50% longer to stop on snow and 75% longer to stop on ice. Other tips for modern vehicles include clearing off your sensors including the backup camera and front cameras before you hit the road, and in the case of a skid, not pumping the breaks if your vehicle has antilock brakes.
